AYA J’s been making waves in the innovative electro-pop genre. The band is made up of Angus Field, a Gumbaynggirr man, from Coffs Harbour, and American drummer, Sam Miller who lives on the Gold Coast.

The duo’s already racked up two prestigious finalist award nominations for 2021 Song Of the Year at the Queensland Music Awards (QMA) and Gold Coast Music Awards (GCMA) for multiple songs from their debut ‘Tenth Street’ EP, and were GCMA ‘People’s Choice’ finalists. Angus is shortlisted in the competitive 2022 APRA AMCOS Smugglers of Light PDA’s for songwriting and participated in the 2022 Gold Coast APRA AMCOS SongHubs curated by Client Liason.

They recently supported The Rubens and In May of 2021, the band headlined their first national tour, selling out shows at HOTA and captivating audiences at the Oxford Art Factory, Bourke Street Mall, Brisbane Festival, BLAKSOUND, Yirramboi Festival, and more.

Triple J' been spinning AYA J’s recent singles, 'I Want You’ and 'To You', with both songs earning placements on curated Spotify and Apple Music playlists. Not bad for a group that formed in 2020 during the pandemic! AYA J is an act to listen to and watch out for in 2022.
